Singer 66
The simplicity of threading and perfection of stitch made the 66 an instant best seller. The high-arm clearance and sewing ability was second to none. As the advert said, Built like a watch in the largest sewing factory in the world.
What I like about this sewing machine:
- Stitch quality: will sew equally well on silk through to denim
- Beautiful egyptian lotus flower design
- Solid high quality construction
- High arm clearance, allows you to put more material under the arm
- Smooth oscillating hook
- Very easy to thread
The lotus flower is a water lily which grows along the Nile. It opens at dawn, displays its blossom during the day, and closes at dusk. For the ancient Egyptians the lotus may have been a symbol of creation, renewal, and the constant rising and setting of the sun.
Made in Kilbowie, Scotland, a village in Dunbartonshire. It is 48 miles (77km) west of Edinburgh and in the west part of Glasgow.
Measures 14 3/4" x 7"
